Italian Countryside

Amalfi coast
The Sorrento Peninsula, with its lush Mediterranean vegetation, rocky cliffs and turquoise sea, offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Campania. It is in the southern strip of the peninsula that the famous Amalfi Coast stretches out along the sea, the so-called land of the mermaids, where the crystal-clear sea and the artistic and historic jewels such as Positano, Ravello and Amalfi have become tourist destinations known throughout the world. The white houses of Amalfi are spread out on terraces along the slope of a basin, facing the sea, amidst the perfume of the vineyards and fruit orchards and the colours of the beautiful gardens. In front of Naples shine the luxuriant islands of Ischia and Capri, from the steep coasts, hallowed out into thousands of underground caves by the infinite breaking of the waves. With their elegant alleys, fashionable pubs, enchanting piazzas and romantic and breathtaking views, such as the famous Faraglioni, these islands express the art of living best, the pleasures and irresistible suggestions of the Neapolitan culture.

Puglia
Puglia, the heel of the Italian boot, is on the Adriatic coast and features great food and wine, good weather, beautiful landscapes and magic architecture. The Gargano Promontory plunges into the sea with renowned tourist resorts such as Rodi Garganico, Peschici and Vieste, while in the vast Murge plateau you will find the famous “trulli” of Alberobello, picturesque white buildings with cone-shaped roofs, of extremely old origins, and the Castellana Caves, the largest speleological complex in Italy. The Puglia countryside offers certainly suggestive views, bathed in sunshine and dotted with vineyards, almond and olive trees. This land is also rich in important historic and artistic Roman, Norman and Angevin testimonies. In the heart of Salento lies the Baroque equivalent of Florence, Lecce. The city, an authentic festival of Baroque and Rococo, offers itself to its visitors, with its fascinating and unique golden colours, typical of the rocks of Puglia.

Basilicata
This region features a beautiful countryside, old properties packed with character and proximity to culture rich cities like Matera, Bari and Naples.
Basilicata boasts beautiful beaches and archeological sites as well as skiing facilities in the winter. Matera is only one hour away from Bari international airport. There are many low cost properties available because the market is still maturing; in general the renovation of inexpensive but well located old stone properties can still provide steady capital growth in southern Italy.

Tuscany
Influenced by the bright colours and exotic flowers of Tuscany the famous Botticelli painting, “Primavera” (spring) is the best image of the Tuscan countryside, drawing on a palette of natural hues, from madder red and indigo to live green. The sea, mountains and hills celebrated all around the world, are the frame of this region, an exclusive microcosm where the beauty and harmony of these landscapes enlivens the soul and betters the spirit. Celebrities have fallen for its charms; Sting, Richard Gere, Paul Smith, Brian Ferry and Antonio Banderas own properties in Tuscany, while Tony Blair and Prince Charles enjoy coming on holidays.

Lazio and Rome area
Everybody adores Rome, but unfortunately that means that it's now extremely hard to find an inexpensive property there. However, as you move away from the capital, you may still find areas with promising investment potential. In the Viterbo area, for example, the countryside is superb and yet prices are very competitive at the moment.

Umbria
Umbria, the green heart of Italy, crossed by the Tevere River, offers to those who visit it a sense of peace and interior harmony. Umbria is the cradle of medieval and renaissance art. We strongly recommend to visit Perugia and Assisi, the town of Saint Francis.

Emilia Romagna and Veneto

The heart of Emilia Romagna (Bologna) and Veneto (Venice) is a countryside of luxurious residences and patrician villas, often designed by illustrious architects and with frescoes painted by famous painters.
