This villa is situated near the hillside town of Ostuni 15 minutes from the sea, in the region of Puglia , southern Italy . It is placed in the countryside, off the sp29 Ostuni San Michele road up a long drive, enveloped by an olive grove and a vineyard in 12000 square metres of land.
When England is shivering in the cold rain in the 3 months of the summer, this area has sunshine from May till September. The villa is part old trulli ( the ancient local building) where 2 double bedrooms are situated with 1/2 meter thick wall with niches cut out, keeping the rooms cool in summer. These rooms open out to a large breakfast room, leading off to the left through double doors to a sun soaked veranda. To the right of the breakfast room a new large bathroom has been installed with a bath, toilet and large shower. A door through the centre leads to the kitchen and small living room with an open fire. A room to the right has another small bathroom. A middle door in the kitchen leads to another bedroom. To the right a pizza oven and barbeque and behind a store area with an airing cupboard, steps lead up to the roof. The whole of this area has ceramic tiles throughout.
At the side of the villa a large brick store house and an outside bathroom. The 12,000 square meters of land contains 160 olive trees yielding on a good year 400 litres of olive oil and an old established vineyard yielding 400 litres of rose wine. There is also an orchards with every kind of fruit, including cherries, pomegranites, sharron fruit, green and black mulberries, apricots, pears apples, peaches, plums, nespalay, walnuts and almonds.
SERVICES INCLUDED: electricity, water, gas for cooking use, weekly linen change, initial and final cleaning, garden maintenance.
SERVICES UPON REQUEST (supplied and payable locally to the owner): extra linen (once a week, on Tuesday or Wednesday, 15,00 per person), extra cleaning ( 10,00/hour), heating (on consumption up to date market prices), firewood ( 15,00/100 kg), extra cleaning in the presence of pets ( 150,00 per pet per week).
