This lovely country house is located near Martina Franca, a small town in the heart of the “Itria valley”, better known as trulli valley or “trullishire”; this part of the Apulia region, in the south east of Italy, is very much appreciated by an increasing number of British and north European travellers of all ages. In Martina Franca you will find a unique opportunity to spend a good time in an uncontaminated natural environment enriched with suggestive historical remains! Our sea, only 20 kilometers away, is crystal clear, ideal for scuba diving, snorkelling and sailing, our countryside is inspiring to bikers, horseback riders and hikers. At night you can enjoy cultural events like theatre, art exhibits, poetry readings and concerts in beautiful medieval towns like Locorotondo, Cisternino or Ostuni and finish the day in a charming trattoria where the owner will offer you our home made pasta (cavatelli and orecchiette) and strong bodily wine (primitivo). The house is part of a “trulli” complex and is partially dug in the typical Martina stone. It is owned by two sisters who live nearby and have decorated the small estate with great taste. The place is ideal for relaxation, being in a green area with many pine trees, but is within walking distance from the baroque historical centre of Martina, less than a kilometre away. Martina is well known for its opera festival, “festival della Valle d’Itria” which takes place every year in July, together with a number of art and craft events which characterize the cultural life of this small town. Martina features many good restaurants and trattorias, but if you decide to stay home and enjoy the garden, we have provided the house with anything you need to cook and dine inside or under the cherry tree. You may rent the house by the week, preferably from Saturday to Saturday, although we will try to comply to your travel schedule. Our prices include all utilities (not including heating for winter stays), towels and sheets (weekly changed), final cleaning, and, for longer stays, weekly cleaning, car parking in the estate, the use of two bikes and a safe located inside the house.
